I am happy to try and answer any questions that parents or students have about mathematics or science subjects. There is no charge for this: it is a free service that some people may find useful due to the recent disruption to education. I cannot offer full tuition but if you are stuck on a particular topic or problem, I may be able to help.
I have background in science and an honours degree in mathematics, and I have trained as a mathematics teacher. There may be questions that I cannot answer immediately, either because I need to refresh my memory or because I need to check how they are currently taught. It is always useful if I can see the teaching material that the student is using, so if you can send links to websites of photos of work, it would be much appreciated. I have a writing pad that can be linked to webpages like a remote blackboard, and this works best when viewed on a large screen: a mobile device is much harder to use. Ideally, you need to be at a computer with a full-sized screen when you call.
I should be able to help with most maths up to A-level and with some science topics at GCSE and A-level. Of the sciences, physics is the most likely that I will be able to help with.
I aim to be available between 3pm and 7pm on Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri, just phone the shop on 017683 71776. You can also email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
PS. Any help I give is on the understanding that you are not asking me to help directly with assignment questions. If you are stuck on work that contributes to your exam grades, I can help with the topic but not with the actual assignment questions.
